「相談が相次いでいる」と言いたかったのですが、「相次いで」での表現に迷いました。早速、「相次いで」「次々に」「続々と」について調べました。
■ one after another — 相次いで、次々に、続々と
応募者が続々と来た。
Applicants came one after another.
各国の首脳がが次々に到着した。
Heads of state arrived one after another.
私は次々と新しいアイディアを出した。
I came up with new ideas one after another.
*「come up with」は、「提案する、示す、見つける」という意味です。
飛行機事故が相次いで起こった.
Airplane accidents happened one after another.
我チームは次々にポイントを奪った。
Our team scored one point after another.
今日は次から次へと注文があった。
I have received one order after another today.
次々起こるトラブルで配達が遅れた。
One trouble after another delayed the delivery.
■ one after the other — 相次いで、次々に、交互に、順々に、かわるがわる
兵士は交互に休息をとった。
The soldiers took a rest one after the other.
私たちはシカゴまで交互に車を運転した。
We drove the car to Chicago one after the other.
あの街では人々が次々と病気になっている。
People are becoming ill one after the other in the town.
夫はワインを３杯次々に飲んだ。

ノーベル賞の受賞者たちは続々と式典会場に到着した。

「one after another」「one after the other」は、同じ様な例文が多く見受けられますので、その違いについて調べました。
「one after another」は、「不特定の２つ以上のものが次々に」と短い時間に連続して、あるいはほぼ一斉に起こるような場合に使われます。
「one after the other」は、１つ目の意味に「特定の３つ以上のものが次々に」と、一斉ではなく若干時間差があって起こるような場合に使われます。２つ目の意味に「特定の２つが交互に」という意味があります。２どちらの意味かは文脈で判断します。
両者の違いは、「特定か不特定か」「ほぼ連続か、若干の時間差をおいてか」の違いですが、ネイティブの中には、あまり厳密に区別していない人もいるようです。
