「来週仕事を休む」と言う時に、表現に迷いました。いろいろな表現がありますので、「仕事を休む」「会社を休む」について調べることにしました。
■ take a day off – – 仕事を１日休む
*休みの日が「今日」あるいは「具体的な日程」の場合には、「a day」の代わりに「the day」が用いられることもあります。
■ take off from work – – 仕事を休む
■ take off from work for 1 day – – 仕事を１日休む
■ take a day off from work – – 仕事を１日休む
■ take a half day off – – 半休を取る、半日休みをとる
■ take the morning off – – 午前半休を取る
■ take the afternoon off – – 午後半休を取る
*「take」は「休みを取る」という積極的な意志のあるニュアンスで、「have」を使うと「休みです」「休みになります」というニュアンスになります。あまり厳密に区別する必要はないようです。
私は今日は休みます。
I will take the day off today.
私は仕事を１日休みます。
I take off from work for 1 day.
私は来週の月曜日に休みを取ります。
I’m taking a day off next Monday.
私は今日は仕事が休みです。
I have a day off from work today.
課長は午前半休です。
Our section chief has the morning off.
私は来週３日間の休みを取るつもりです。
I am going to take three days off next week.
私は今日の午後、半休を取ります。

私は明日の午前中だけ休みを取ります。
I will take a half-day off in the morning tomorrow.

私は来月、数日の休みを頂きたいです。
