「今、フィリピンで日本のラーメンが話題になっている。」と言いたかったのですが、「話題になっている」の表現がうまく言えませんでした。早速、調べました。
「話題となる」と言う表現を考える時、「新聞紙上で」「雑誌記事で」「庶民の話上で」など、どこで（どの様な媒体で）話題になっているのかをはっきりする方が、英語で表現し易い様に思います。
■ topic – – （可算名詞）話題、テーマ、トピック
■ subject – – （可算名詞）主題、問題、題目
■ news – – （不可算名詞）ニュース、報道、情報
話題を変えましょう。
Let’s change the subject.
Let’s switch to some other topic.
ディランは話題を変えた。
