「発言権」「発言権がある」「発言権がない」って英語で言うと?

「彼は社内で発言権を持っていない」と言いたかったのですが、表現に迷いました。早速、「発言権」「発言権がある」「発言権がない」について調べました。


■ right to speak – – 発言権

私には発言する権利がある。
I have the right to speak.

私は会議で発言する権利を得た。
I had a right to speak at a conference.

一般社員には役員会で発言する権利はない。
Ordinary employees have no right to speak in the board meeting.

ガルシアは、最高裁判所で発言または議論する権利を持つ弁護士である。
Garcia is a lawyer who has the right to speak to and argue a case in the Supreme Court.
*「argue」は「論議する」という意味です。
*「case」は、「訴訟、訴訟事件、判例」という意味です。


■ say – – (名詞)発言権、決定権

日本はその事については発言権がない。
Japan have no say in the matter.

この事案の決定権は誰にあるでしょうか?
Who has the say in this issue?

最大の発言権を持っていた専務取締役は社内での影響力を失った。
The managing director who had had the biggest say lose influence in the company.


■ voice – – (名詞)発言権、選択権、投票権

私は本件に対して発言権がある。
I have a voice in this matter.

私は本件に対して発言権がない。
I have no voice in this matter.

新興国や発展途上国は、国連に対してより大きな発言権を持つべきである。
Emerging and developing economies should have greater voice in the U.N.

彼はこの会社の経営方針についての発言権を持っている。
He is a director who has a voice in the management policies of this company.


■ floor – – (名詞)発言権

裁判長は最後に彼女に発言権を与えた。
The judge granted her the floor in the end.

彼は株主総会で発言権を求めた。
He asked for the floor in the general meeting of shareholders.


「right to speak」は形式ばった言い方で「権利」のニュアンスが強調されている様に思います。

「say」「voice」は、意思の表示の様なニュアンスではと思います。

「floor」は、「議員席、議場、会場参加者席」という意味があり、そこから「発言権」というニュアンスにも使われます。

日常での「発言権」は、「say」「voice」を使って表現するのが適当な様に思います。
