「できるだけたくさん」という時に、どの様な表現が適切であるのか迷いました。早速、「できるだけ～」の表現について調べました。
可算できるもの
■ as many as possible – – できるだけ多く
■ as few as possible – – できるだけ少し
私はできるだけたくさんのケーキを食べたい。
I want to eat as many cakes as possible.
私たちはできるだけ多くの鉛筆を持参します。
We will bring as many pencils as possible.
お土産はできるだけ少なく買います。

「as ～ as possible」は「as ～ as I can」のように表現することもできます。「I can」は「we can」「you can」「he can」のように適切なものに置き換えます。
私たちはできるだけ多くの鉛筆を持参します。
We will bring as many pencils as possible.
= We will bring as many pencils as we can.
私たちはなるべく英語で話しますね。
We speak in English as much as possible.
= We speak in English as much as we can.
できるだけ早く来てね。
Please come as soon as possible.
= Please come as soon as you can.
「I’m trying to」は、「as ～ as possible」よりは、若干ニュアンスが弱くなりますが、「努めている」のようなニュアンスとなります。
■ I’m trying to ～ – – 私は～している、～中です。～に頑張っている。
私は英語を話すようにしている。
I’m trying to speak in English.
息子はゆっくり食べるように努めている。
My son is trying to eat slowly.
