「なぜ彼女は検査を受けるのを抵抗するの？」と聞きたかったのですが、「抵抗する」の表現がわからなかったので、「拒絶する」の「reject」を使いました。「抵抗する」の表現を早速、調べました。
■ resist – – （動詞）抵抗する、反抗する、敵対する
■ resistance – – （名詞）抵抗、反抗、敵対
デモ隊は警察隊に抵抗した。
The demonstrators resisted the police.
*「demonstrator」は「デモ参加者」という意味です。
その紳士はあまりにも高齢で抵抗することができなかった。
The gentleman was too old to resist.
なぜ少女は検査を受けることに抵抗するの？
Why does the girl resist taking the medical examination?
人の欲望に抵抗することは難しい。
It’s hard to resist human desires.
エヴリンはキスされないように抵抗した。
