■ preoccupation – – （名詞）先入観、没頭、夢中
彼らは自分たちの先入観を疑わなかった。
They did not doubt their preconceptions.

■ bias – – （名詞）性癖、傾向、先入観、偏見
大人は他人を先入観を持って見がちである。
Adults tend to look at others with bias.
彼女はその問題を先入観を持たずにに判断しなければならない。
She has to judge the case without bias.
■ prejudice – – （名詞）偏見、ひがみ、先入観
若者は日本酒はださいという先入観を持っている。
Young people have a prejudice that ‘Japanese rice wine is uncool.’
彼女はジャズに対して先入観を持っている。
She has a prejudice against jazz.
「先入観」に関する表現は、思った以上にたくさんあります。
「preoccupation」は、「没頭、夢中」という意味から、「心に強く植え付けられる」「注意を強く引く考え」のニュアンスとなります。
「bias」「prejudice」は、「ある問題を客観的に見ることを妨げてしまう偏った見方」のニュアンスとなります。
