英語ニュースを読んでいる時に、消費税を「consumption tax」ではなく、「sales tax」 と表記しているのが気になりました。早速、「消費税」について調べました。

割合はわかりませんが、英語ニュースでは、「consumption tax」より、「sales tax」が多く使われていることが分かりました。米国などでは、「sales tax」の方が馴染みがあるため理解し易い様です。
