「永住ビザを取得できるる可能性がある」と言いたかったのですが、うまく言えませんでした。「believe」「in case」「might」ですと、少しニュアンスが異なる様に思います。早速調べました。
「可能性がある」と言う表現は、確実ではないし、絶対無理でもないという、実現する確率がある程度あると言う曖昧なニュアンスです。
■ possible – – （形容詞）可能で、可能性のある
*「it is possible」で「可能性がある」「可能である」となります。
1週間以内にその仕事をする可能性が私にはあります。
It is possible for me to do the work in a week.
それは彼に悪影響を与える可能性が高い。
It is highly possible that it will be a bad influence on him.
このコンサートは短くて60分になる可能性がある。
