まず、スマホ（スマートフォン）や携帯電話は、「cell」「cell phone」「mobile」「mobile phone」 と表現されます。主として、アメリカでは、「cell」「cell phone」、主としてヨーロッパでは「mobile」「mobile phone」 が使われるようです。
*「cell phone」は「cellular phone」の略です。
*明らかに「携帯電話」とわかる場合には、単に「phone」と言うこともあります。
*「smartphone」という表現は和製英語と言われていますが、オックスフォードの英英辞典にも載っていますし、英語圏でも理解されるようです。ただ「スマホ」はほとんど通じないようです。
