「彼女の発言を尊重したい」という時に、「発言」の表現に迷いました。意見でしたら、「opinion」で良いと思いますが、「発言」の場合の表現がよくわかりませんでした。早速、調べました。
■ statement – – （名詞）陳述、声明、供述
初めに副社長から発言をさせて頂きたいと思います。
Our vice-president would like to make a statement first.
私は定例会での彼の発言に興味を持った。
I was interested in his statement at a regular meeting.
ここで何か発言してもらえますか？
Will you give us a statement here?
社長は今週中に声明を発表する予定です。
The president is to make a statement in this week.
■ speech – – （名詞）スピーチ、発言、会話、言葉づかい、演説、話し言葉
彼は発言した内容を取り消した。
He took back the contents of his speech.
*「take back」は、「取り戻す、撤回する、取り消す」という意味です。
その新人の発言には注意が必要です。
A warning is necessary in the new comer’s speech.
私は彼のその発言に失望しました。
I was disappointed by his speech.
■ remark – – （動詞）言う、認める、（名詞）意見、批評、注意、注目
私は彼の発言を聞き逃した。
I missed his remark.
彼は私の科学上の発見に対して意見を述べた。
He remarked on my scientific discovery.
そのスタッフはそのような発言を繰り返した。
The staff repeated that kind of remark.
その発言はどんな意味でしょうか？
What do you intend by that remark?
彼女の発言はこのプロジェクトとは何の関係もない。
Her remark has nothing to do with this project.
