■ unfavorable – – （形容詞）都合の悪い、不利な、不都合な
その法改正は私たちの計画に不利であった。
That law amendment were unfavorable to our plan.
*「law amendment」は、「法改正」という意味です。
ジェーンは不利な環境下で仕事を頑張っています。
Jane is working hard at work under unfavorable circumstances.
■ handicap – – （名詞）不利な条件、ハンディキャップ、困難、不利益、（動詞）ハンディキャップをつける、不利な地位に立たせる
視力が悪いのは、プロドライバーには不利である。
Poor eyesight is a handicap to a professional driver.
働く意欲がないことが最悪の不利だ。
Having no desire to work is the worst handicap.
リリアンは耳が遠いので、不利な立場にある。
Lillian is handicapped by poor hearing.
彼女は年齢で不利になることはないでしょう。
She will not be handicapped by age.
