大失敗、手に負えない、限界となって、「もうだめ」って言いたくなる時があります。表現方法がわかりませんので、早速、「もうだめ」について調べました。
■ be done for – – お手上げ、もうダメ、もう終わり
私はもうダメです。
I am done for.
我々はもうダメだ。
We are done for it.

Andrew:
もうダメだ。
I am done for.
Lily:
何があったの？
What happened?
Andrew:
彼女に振られた。
I broke up with her.
■ all over – – 終わって、終わりにして
私はもうだめだ。
It’s all over for me.
私たちはもう終わりだ。
It’s all over for us.
彼女はもうだめだ。
It is all over with her.
彼らはもうだめだ。
It is all over with them.

Joseph:
我々は山で遭難したらしい。
It seems we lost our way in the mountain.
Dylan:
私たちはもう終わりかなぁ。
I wonder it’s all over for us.
Joseph:
大丈夫、我々はきっと助かるさ。
No problem! I’m sure we’ll be saved.
「It’s over.」でも似たような意味がある様ですが、「終わり」「お仕舞い」「もういい」「交渉の余地はもうない」などのニュアンスとなります。
