「知らない犬が私に飛びついた。」と言いたかったのですが、「飛びつく」表現がわかりませんでした。早速、調べました。
■ jump – – （動詞）飛びかかる、飛びつく、喜んで応じる
突然、１匹の知らない犬が私に飛びついた。
Suddenly a strange dog jumped on me.
その大きな犬はその男に飛びかかった。
The big dog jumped at the man.
東京で暮らすチャンスがあれば多くの人が飛びつくだろう。
Many would jump at the chance to live in Tokyo.
■ leap – – （動詞）跳ぶ、はねる、跳躍する、飛びつく、応じる
そのドーベルマンは少女に飛びついた。
The Doberman leaped at a girl.
そのカエルは窓に飛びついた。
The frog Leaped at the Willow.
ヴィクトリアはすかさずその申し出に飛びついた。
Victoria leaped at the coffer.
海外留学の機会にぱっと飛びついた。
He leaped at the opportunity to study abroad.
■ fly – – （動詞）[獲物などに]飛びつく、[理想などに]飛びつ、[人・ものに]飛びかかる、攻撃する
うちの犬は知らない人を見ると飛びつく。
My dog will fly at stranger.
猫はねずみに飛びかかった。
The cat flew at the mouse.
「jump」「leap」は、機会や申し出に「飛びつく、応じる」の意味でも使用できます。
